9.00 am Expecting friend and former client Liz flying over from LA later today. She'll be attending Miss World 2019 that she co-owns and co-directs. It's been a few years since I looked after Miss GB and Liz's TV career in the UK. Now living in LA, she set up a hot talent agency while remaining involved in the beauty pageant business. Bringing along her pampered pooch, they'll both be staying with me for one night. Not expected till 5 pm, so plenty of time to get some work done.

Have a WhatsApp call scheduled with an international PR in Moscow at 10 am GMT. Met her two years ago when I was invited to attend the Viennese Ball in the Russian capital. She's in the cultural and luxury events sector and wants me to help extend her activities to the London scene.
Need to put down a few ideas on paper.

10 am Call her and the line is surprisingly clear. We chat for at least half an hour. Number of interesting projects discussed. She wants me to create a very specific business profile to submit to a client. Could it be ready for tomorrow? What?? Will try to fit it in my day, knowing full well it's nearly impossible.

10.35 am Need to do some social media for client as well as come up with a few ideas to create an ad while begging for  high res image. Mustn't forget to change restaurant booking for tonight, organise birthday present for client as well as mail numerous Christmas cards and source presents. Oh yes - and proofread an article ready to be submitted for a magazine.

11.50 am  Ping on my phone alerts me to message. It's from Liz. She's landed and should be with me earlier, around 2 pm. Panic! Quick look around to make sure everything in place for my Hollywood divas.  Still chasing the high res image for ad as deadline tomorrow.
In the meantime getting down to creating the specific business profile as requested.

2.55 pm after numerous messages the Hollywood delegation arrives - bleary-eyed, jet-lagged but bushy-tailed. Well one of them anyway. Pooch has a very American haircut and wears "anti-stress" coat infused with pheromones, supposed to have a soothing effect during the long flight. Only in California!

We have a lot of catching up to do. Liz has to organise the USA team flying over to cheer on Miss USA. One of her guests drops out. Would be a pity to waste complimentary ticket but it's all very last minute. Finally ticket offered to glamorous model Sophia who'd walked down the catwalk of many of my fashion shows. She's delighted to join us.

Liz then shows me the dress she'll be wearing. A full length bright pink gown that in her own admission is rather OTT.
Well, she's one of the key figures after all, and will be sitting in VIP section! One little snag - dress got rather creased in suitcase. Will need to be ironed by someone. As it turned out later that was going to be me, entrusted with the delicate task! Well, a PR's work is never done..

4.15 pm Ignoring all discomfort from jetlag, Liz sits down with her laptop for a spot of talent managing across the pond - allowing me to return to some work. Go through the 30 + journalists' requests that pop into my inbox every day. Sadly not one of them suitable for any of my clients today

6 pm Client A and her husband turn up for drinks. I introduced them to Liz many years ago and we have co-operated since on numerous projects. They'll be joining us at the Miss World 2019
 event two days later.

7 pm Leaving a very tired pooch snoring in her bed, we go to cosy little French bistro for dinner. Much talk about  latest exciting plan - A's skincare range going on shopping channel in America in the New Year. And planning lunch with the evergreen Julia Morley, veteran owner of the Miss World organisation.

10.10 pm Back home and my sleep-deprived guests retire for the night. Try and finish my special business profile for my potential Russian associate, but it's not going too well. Still, at least first draft done.

11.30 pm Time to go to bed. Soon drift off to sleep. Images of giggling beauty queens tripping over their towering stilettos float in front of my eyes. And a pile of ironing….. Zzzz

Well, tomorrow’s another day..
